She has frequently performed on radio and television and has recorded much of the standard and new cello literature on the Muza, ICRecords, Melodya, Relief, and CRS labels. She won prizes in prestigious music competitions including the Danczowski Cello Competition (Poznan), Pablo Casals Cello Competition (Budapest), Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow), Aldo Parisot International Cello Competition (Brazil), J.S. Bach International Competition (Leipzig), Cassado International Cello Competition (Florence), and W.C. Byrd Young Artists Competition (Michigan). She is on the faculty of Towson University and directs the annual International Cello Festival. In 2003 she was appointed Artistic Director of the International Music Institute and Festival USA.
Prof. Charles H. Borowsky, Ph.D. (voice and harmonica) has been internationally acknowledged for his many academic, educational, and leadership achievements. Borowsky has authored numerous articles and books in the areas of social movements and change, politics and religion, development and quality of life, sociology of culture, and sociology of youth, published in America, Europe, and Asia. He has been on the faculty of prominent universities including Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Social Studies, and the University of Maryland and has lectured in 66 countries in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Violinist Emmanuel Borowsky has toured 35 countries in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. As the Rhein Neckar Zeitung (Germany) wrote: "He brought forth a celebration of fire and temperament, as well as immense sensitivity, wonderfully flowing chants and a pliant tone. He is a remarkable talent." Emmanuel teaches violin and chamber music at the Intermuse International Music Institute and Festival USA and also teaches privately in Baltimore. Mr. Borowsky holds degrees from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts and Indiana University. He is currently completing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Maryland. Most recently, Emmanuel performed Max Bruch’s “Scottish Fantasy” with the Frederick Symphony Orchestra and gave multiple concerts and masterclasses in Lithuania.
Gracing the stages of over thirty countries, cellist Frances Borowsky is quickly establishing herself as one of the most sensitive artists of her generation. Th Rhein-Neckar Zeitung (Germany) praised her as “very courageous...marvelously colorful, and performing with deep expression and a compelling temperament.” A dedicated citizen of the world, Frances embeds her memories of Norwegian fjords, Venetian artists, Parisian chocolates, and friendly Belgian cows into the rich tapestry of her explosive interpretations. Frances holds degrees from Towson University, Peabody Conservatory, and Folkwang University of the Arts. She is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Musical Arts program at the University of Maryland and studies with Eric Kutz.
Elizabeth Borowsky enjoys a vibrant musical career as soloist and collaborative pianist, composer, educator, speaker, and recording artist. Lauded as a sensitive and dynamic collaborative pianist, she has performed with distinguished musicians including cellist Amit Peled, violinist Kam Lung Cheng, and soprano Teresa Kubiak. Borowsky’s enthusiasm for music and people is clearly visible both on- and off- the concert stage: she has earned a reputation as a dedicated and effective instructor, teaching at Indiana University Bloomington, Morgan State University, and Towson University and presenting masterclasses in the USA, Lithuania, Germany, Cuba, Japan, Poland, and Germany. She is founder and director of Piano Prodigies LLC, a holistic approach to private piano instruction that uniquely balances the technical, artistic, and personal development of each student. Elizabeth Borowsky is a registered yoga teacher and enjoys culinary improvisation, photography, and traveling with her husband, Rob.
