The internationally acclaimed Borowsky Family, known as the “American Virtuosi,” have been invited to perform pre-Olympic concerts in China as soloists with the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra. The concerts, titled “Great Harmony: One World, One Dream, One Family,” will be held in major Chinese cities including Beijing and Tianjin from April 1-15, 2008. The main objective of these concerts is to promote the Olympic theme of peace and harmony. Hailed by the international press as “American Virtuosi,” the Borowsky family has been praised world-wide for their outstanding musicianship. The members of this extraordinary family have won their way into the hearts of millions of people through their concerts in Americas, Asia, Middle East, and Europe; radio and television performances; and CD recordings. Prestigious musical, social, and cultural organizations in the USA and abroad have honored them with awards and distinctions. The program features classical music from around the world, including the Triple Concerto by Beethoven, Hungarian Rhapsody by Popper, Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante by Chopin, Introduction and Rondo Capricciosso by Saint-Saens, and a special work written by the Borowskys, “Great Harmony: One World, One Dream, One Family.” The family consists of Prof. Charles H. Borowsky (harmonica and commentary), Prof. Cecylia Barczyk-Borowsky (cello), and their three children: Elizabeth (piano), Emmanuel (violin), and Frances Grace (cello).
